The
Dar Jazz Event - a one week musical celebration of concerts, jam
sessions, and seminars for local artists & musicians - with a dual
mission of providing Education & Development opportunities for
musically talented Tanzanian Youth, and of being the seed planted in
order to establish an annual international music festival in Dar Es
Salaam - will become a reality during the period of April 11 - 17, 2011.
The
Dar Jazz Event envisions its future as a platform for the convergence
of top music artists from Tanzania, the African continent, and the USA -
homeland of Jazz - upon the city of Dar Es Salaam. For the enjoyment
of residents and visitors, and to the benefit and inspiration of
talented Tanzanian youth who aspire to careers in music that may bring
them beyond the borders of their country.
Key Artists, 2011:
