The Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was today hit in the face with a metal object by a member of public. Berlusconi was addressing a rowdy crowd in Milan.Berlusconi is reported to have sustained facial lacerations and suspected broken teeth. He was rushed to the hospital where he will spend the night under observation.
Berlusconi, who is also the owner of the football team AC Milan, has a vast media empire in Italy. He has been the Prime Minister of Italy three times since 1994.
Berlusconi has been attracting the media attention for all wrong reason, he is well known for his gaffes, off the cuff remarks, corruption and sex related scandals. His wife is currently seeking a divorce amid allegations of "transgressions" with a young girl.
